Many thanks to those who have supported our efforts through emails, prayers, and especially comments! We made significant strides in our research during the Germany 2005 trip, and will be exploring publication options in the near future (as Father Viktor once said about the German Foundation, "the work must and will succeed!") Keep checking in our Latest News section as events unfold.

If you are already aware of this story and have information not mentioned within the story section, please get in touch with us. Thanks for your interest in this site.

Do you have a biography of Fr. Eustace Eilers, C.P.? He founded the Passionist Missions in Alabama.

Posted by: Chris Gillibrand June 19, 2005, 7:12 pm
The Passionists: Such a small order, so many saints and other examples of holiness. The story of Fr Koch has to be published.

Posted by: Michael Keogh May 11, 2005, 12:30 pm
In my very first days as a C.P. postulant, I vaguely recall a visit by this much-respected man to Dunkirk N.Y. I know of two C.P.s -still alive - who would have been there (Dunkirk ) at the time. Maybe they should be contacted. I would urge full speed ahead now as aging is a big factor. Great stuff--important!!!

What a great story. Extensive research has been done to tell of ones heroism. During this period a lot of stories, will never be discovered and go untold. I am happy to see that a story of this calibur has not fallen by the wayside. I hope to see the story told on the big screen someday!

This story, about a remarkable hero, is one that needs to be published where the world, especially the youth of the world, will be able to read and understand that one person does indeed have the ability to make a difference. Fr. Viktor was a hero in the true meaning of the word “hero”.

What a great story!!! Hope it gets published!

A very interesting story about a compassonate priest. It appears that he received devine protection and utmost bravery to accomplish so much in his lifetime.

What an interesting story! WE would love to read more about Father Koch's inspiring life.

What a wonderful story! There are too few heroes today. Fr. Victor Koch's story of heroism needs to be told! I look forward to seeing it in print soon!

Posted by: Kevin McKelvie July 28, 2004, 6:03 pm
Absolutely this is a story which should be told and printed in a mjor publication. Best of luck.

a fascinating story - The atrocities of this war, heard and seen in tale after tale, are gruesome, indeed. It's comforting to see that a redeeming sense of humanity & respect for life co-existed at this troubled time. These positive legacies are the ones that give mankind hope for the future. I hope that this story will be shared!

I’m glad to see some of our American history is being captured for future generations. Our history has such a religious background that many forget. Hopefully, this will help to remind us. Thanks to everyone who helped share this information.

I think this would make a great magazine article showing people the good that can be done by one person and inspiring others to do likewise in their own lives.

Posted by: Mary L. Dibler July 27, 2004, 12:08 am
This is very inspiring...and helps us remember that heroes such as this give so much of themselves to help mankind. It would be wonderful if Fr. Koch's story could be told in a nationwide publication, sharing his story with the general public. Information such as this brings out the best in those who read it.

I definitely would like to see Fr. Viktor's story published in a book or magazine article.

Posted by: Ed Pancoast July 25, 2004, 4:59 pm
All my family and friends who have seen the website on Father Viktor have nothing but praise for the way the story has been presented, and my former State Department and USIA associates insist that the story must find its way into print in one of the major national magazines. I hope you will find more than one American eye witness. The pictures you found in the U.S. National Archives of the large 1945 burial ceremony show several hundred GIs in attendance, yet none have responded. I think we can change that. For an idea or two, call me. Ed

What a fascinating story! If only we could find out who the allied commander was who made this demand (bury the 133 victims respectfully, in real graves). Or perhaps it was Viktor Koch himself who had this idea?! Jerry Specht

Father Koch's story is a wonderful example of how one person can really make a difference. How many other unsung heroes are out there? His story deserves to be heard.

Fascinating story! Interesting details. Wonderful old photos. Viktor Koch's life story is an inspiration for us all!

I think this website and its contents were thoroughly researched, compiled in a way that is easy for the reader to navigate and compelling pictures to say the least. I would buy the first copy of the magazine that this is published in for keepsake -- this is a story that needs told. Great job!!

This is an amazing story, thoroughly researched and well presented. It yearns not just for publication but for a screenplay. How beautiful when the present honors the heroism of the past by giving life to such a compelling narrative!

Posted by: Ashley Shumway July 21, 2004, 4:08 pm
This is such a great story! Hopefully it will be published one day!

Posted by: Charu Ahuja July 21, 2004, 2:02 pm
This is a truly well written story that should be published in many a magazine. Everyone should be told the true story of Father Victor. This will be of great philanthropic interest to most. Even though the research is ongoing, this is an immensely comprehensive account of a historical event. Good luck for all future research and publication.

Posted by: alicia Nitecki July 20, 2004, 8:50 pm
Would love to read more about him, are you going to publish? Please let me know.

Posted by: Daniel Bauer July 20, 2004, 3:24 pm
I am fascinated by this story! I am sure others would be also, if it were shared in a publication more likely to reach a wider audience. It is always inspiring to see the extraordinary limits to which some persons will go when motivated by the love of God and neighbor. Thank you for all your efforts to share the story.

Welcome to the official "Father Viktor Project" web site. In an effort to spread the word about this little-known American hero, we will soon attempt to publish short articles in various magazines. Help us show that an audience exists by posting a brief comment on this site. Thank you!
